Reading Comprehension Fundamentals

A focused approach helps students improve their reading comprehension and provides rigorous practice of reading skills and strategies. The comprehensive units guide students to develop a deep understanding of each skill and strategy and increase their reading competencies. Each of the approximately 35 units focuses on one reading skill, strategy, text structure, or genre, including Main Idea and Details, Historical Fiction, compare and Contrast, Making Inferences, Post of View, and Predict. The series includes fiction and nonfiction texts to provide students ample reading experiences. Each unit provides: A rule box to help students focus on the skill or strategy being practiced, Short texts with follow-up comprehension items, Longer texts with follow0up comprehension items, and a review page for students to demonstrate understanding.
